Saying the alphabet is the first step to fluent Alphabetic Principle - a predictor of reading attainment - but there’s a lot more to it than that.

Can you name letters (not sounds!), spot upside letters, recognise similar letters (b/d/p/q), say what’s next or before, know which quartile to work in? If you can, you are an Alphabetic Principle Master!
