Proprioceptive sensory input

Some learners don’t just want to move when learning, they NEED to! Proprioceptive sensory input can help a learner’s attention and concentration as the muscles and joints are activated which can calm the motor cortex in the brain. This often leads to better focus and engagement for learning. Using concentration aids (fidget toys) can help here, but look at our hidden extras that we keep under the table too! Wobble cushions, foot plates and Therabands all help give proprioceptive input Our child centred sessions take all our learners’ strengths and needs into account when planning their learning programmes, considering more than just their academic journey. We have the time to teach them how to use these resources so they can generalise this back into their mainstream classes.
