One of our Y6 learners has been learning about classification (grouping) in science and investigating ‘cladograms’. A cladogram is a diagram that shows the evolutionary relationships between organisms. For example, it may show the development of a skeleton, followed by the development of limbs and so on. In this example we decided to make it a bit more fun and constructed a cladogram to show the evolutionary relationships between biscuits! At the bottom of the evolutionary scale was the shortcake biscuit, then we added a flavouring - in this case coconut, followed by a tasty jam and buttercream filling. The next ‘evolutionary step’ was the addition of a chocolate topping, followed by the biscuit being completely covered in chocolate. A yummy way to learn about evolutionary development! 😋 Find out more about our sessions here: https://newwayslearningcentre.com/contact.php
